Section 3. Love & Fr iendship Mai lbox of Peace 088 089 Korea Foundation & US Peace Corps KF COVID-19 Survival Box Gratitude Letter Col lection I want to take this opportunity to thank you so much for your generous gift to all Friends of Korea former Peace Corps Volunteers . To tell you the truth , I had forgotten about the information we received a few months ago , telling us about the relief package . So needless to say , when it was delivered to my house , I was totally surprised . After I opened it up , I instantly remembered who it was from . What a sur- prise , however , to see ALL that was included with the package . I loved all of it . The masks are so wonderful . I have shared many with friends and of course family . They are so secure yet lightweight . I have played pickle ball with one on and have never felt like I couldn ' t breathe . The candy , the coffee , the fan , the chopstick sets and the backpack are wonderful too . It was so very kind of you to remember us from so many years ago . I served in the Rehabilitation / Special Education department from 1978 - 1980 , K - 47 . I have many fond memories of your country and your people , and of course , Korean food . Thank you again for your thoughtfulness , “It was so very kind of you to remember us from so many years ago” Jane McCann , K - 47 Jane McCann What a wonderful, touching and gracious gesture it was on the part of the Korea Foundation to send the COVID-19 Survival Box to Peace Corps Volun- teers who had the pleasure to serve in the Republic of Korea. Thank you so very much!! The kit was indeed very much appreciated. Reaching out to those of us who are in such a difficult time due to the coronavirus means a lot to me. I so wish the USA had followed the excellent guidelines for containment of the pandemic as you did in the Republic of Korea . Your country was a beacon of light as an example which I am sorry the whole world did not follow. I have been telling friends how surprised and pleased I was by your very kind gift. It has already been very helpful. The masks you sent are much more comfortable for me than the ones I have been able to obtain here in my home town in Michigan. I have also shared some of them with friends who needed them. The other items were so thoughtful, the gloves, the candy, and the wonderful coffee tubes that are not available here. I look forward to using and display- ing the beautiful chopsticks gift. The small backpack is just perfect for my travels, when that can happen again. Again, thank you. Regards, “Your country was a beacon of light” Paula Allred , K - 6 Paula Allred, 1968-1970 Hong Seong Gun, Yesan Gun, Taejon City
