I worked in the Sorokdo leprosarium from 1976-1978. It was one of the best experiences of my life. I am still in contact with my Korean family. I have attached a photo for your pleasure, Thank you. "I am still in contact with my Korean family" Chip Joseph , K - 38 korea 1976 Chip Joseph Thank you for the kind gesture of sending us such timely Covid-19 packages. <omit> I was truly delighted by the package, which arrived on a Saturday morning. I was heading out for a morning walk and saw a large package on my porch. I turned it over and saw the label. I immediately brought in inside and called my wife to open it with me. So many nice items that were practical and memory evoking. Like may of the RPCVs I shared the new on social media. My service in Korea was as a K-43. My commitment to the Republic has con- tinued throughout my career and an educator and businessman and even today I have the honor to serve as an Honorary Consul in Michigan. For me personally, highlights of this position are the annual 7.27 memorial event and the 8.15 celebration. I have been so appreciative of the recognition and return visits for military personnel that served in the war and the exten- sion of return visits to us PCVs. Once again, thank you and the Korea Foundation for your remembering us at this time of need. We are forever grateful to KF and the people of the Repub- lic for enriching our lives. “We are forever grateful to KF and the people of the Republic for enriching our lives” David Roden , K - 43 David M.
