Section 2. Happiness & Hope Mai lbox of Peace 048 049 Korea Foundation & US Peace Corps KF COVID-19 Survival Box Gratitude Letter Col lection Please accept my belated but nonetheless deep gratitude for the Covid - 19 Survival Box that I received from the Korea Foundation last month . It is with great respect and appreciation that I acknowledge Korea ’ s ongoing care for and connection with former Peace Corps volunteers who worked in Korea . Korea ' s concern - even after over 50 years - is truly remarkable . Recently I learned from Charlie Golberg , a volunteer in my K - 1 group , about a Korean expression that roughly translates into English as “ human hearted- ness .” If my understanding of that term is correct , then Korea ’ s gift to me and oth- er volunteers is an example of Korea ’ s great human heartedness . I have been sorry to learn that covid - 19 has become an increasing problem in Korea , but I know that the Korean government takes it very seriously and will find the best way forward . If there is any way that I can help , I would like to , so please let me know . I hope that 2021 brings complete recovery from this virus throughout the world . < omit > I can only hope and pray that your people will continue to cooperate with government measures and keep the virus down to a manageable level de- spite the bitterly cold winter weather . Please tel l everyone who was involved in the undertaking to send the Covid - 19 Survival Boxes to former Peace Corps volunteers how touched and grateful that we are . Thank you again and please stay safe and healthy . “Example of Korea’s great human heartedness” Sandra M . Nathan , K - 1 Sandra M. Nathan It seems to me that as we live our lives , we touch people in ways that often remain unknown to us . By sending us the Survival Box , and sponsoring the Korea Revisit program , we are aware of your country ' s gratitude . We sincerely thank you from the bottom of our hearts to know that what our organization did has not been forgotten . It means more than we can say in words . To receive such an incredible amount of necessary supplies , thoughtful , beautiful gifts , and the video literally brought tears to our eyes . We will never forget the wonderful experiences we had as Peace Corps Volunteers in Korea . We will always treasure getting to know your beautiful country , amazing people , and incredibly rich culture . And please know that we learned from you as well , and are forever grateful for your country ' s help in making us who we are today . < omit > How lucky we are to have been volunteers in Korea ! At this special time of the year , we wish you , your family , and your country peace and we hope that you can find joy despite the global pandemic . May the New Year be a brighter one for all of us . “How lucky we are to have been volunteers in Korea!” Brenda & Paul Colonna , K - 51 Brenda & Paul Colonna
