Section 1. Memor ies of Korea Mai lbox of Peace 024 025 Korea Foundation & US Peace Corps KF COVID-19 Survival Box Gratitude Letter Col lection I just want to let you know about my surprise and delight to have the KF Covid - 19 Survival Box arrive at my home . This was so generous . Thank you so very very much . Receiving it brought back a flood of wonderful memories of my time in Korea . I was a Peace Corps in the group K - 49 ( from 1979 - 1981 ) working in tubercu- losis control . I was stationed in Seogwipo , Chejudo . I still love Kimchi and sometimes makes my own . My favorite Korean dish re- mains Bibimpap and I eat it whenever I have the chance ( kogi baego ). My work helping low income , limited resource people has continued in this country where I work for the University of New Hampshire Cooperative Ex- tension teaching people about nutrition and healthy eating / lifestyle choices . Thank you for the opportunity to experience the love and culture of the Ko- rean people . My memories from that time in my life will be cherished forever . “My memories from that time in my life will be cherished forever” Brenda Carey , K - 49 Brenda Carey New Hampshire Belated thanks to you and the Korea Foundation for the KF COVID - 19 Surviv- al Box , which I received here in Pohang . It was wonderful to have my Peace Corps service ( K - 39 ; 경기도 이천, 수원) re- membered in this way . Ten years ago , I took early retirement from my law firm to return to Korea and teach . The country has changed in many ways , most of them admirable , and it brings great joy to be able to keep contributing , in some small way , to its con- tinued growth and success . Wishing you and your organization the very best for the New Year . Kind regards , “It was wonderful to have my Peace Corps service remembered in this way” Edward Purnell , K - 39 Edward Purnell
