There are still many obstacles to building international trust, not only between North and South Korea but also among the major countries surrounding the Korean peninsula. However, we endeavor to make peace on the peninsula a reality, as well as to gain the unwavering trust of the international society through the power of public diplomacy, and to establish continuous human exchanges via international civil networks. In July of 2018, the KF moved its headquarters to Seogwipo on Jeju Island in accordance with a policy by the Korean government to distribute public agencies across different provinces. To fulfill the purpose of this relocation, we will continue to contribute to the development of Jeju, known as the “Island of World Peace,” and initiate even more diverse international exchange programs across Korea through the tripartite system comprised of the KF Headquarters in Jeju, the KF Global Center in Seoul, and the ASEAN Culture House in Busan. The KF will reaffirm its commitment to playing an even more effective leadership role in public diplomacy in the future.
