Handwr itten Letters 128 129 Mai lbox of Peace Korea Foundation & US Peace Corps KF COVID-19 Survival Box Gratitude Letter Col lection Today I am inspired, albeit belatedly, to write you, to express the thanks of our family for the Covid-19 care package which the Korea Foundation sent me last November. It arrived safely and we have been using the masks and other protective equipment ever since. Today, moreover, I heard, through one of our group, Korea-3, about the lifework of Paul Courtright, who also lives in San Diego, California, and whose life has been affected by his service in Korea about as much as has been mine. <omit> With gratitude to the Korea Foundation for your pioneering work in cultural relations on behalf of Korea and for helping to keep alive and pass along the enduring links between Korea and us RPCV's, in the United States and beyond, I remain. “We have been using the masks and other protective equipment ever since” Douglas B. McNeal, K-3 Douglas B. McNeal interpreter of Korean and translator of Chinese As a former Peace Corps volunteer(K-4) in the late 1960’s I lived and worked as a health volunteer near Sokcho in Gangwon-do. <omit> Realizing a COVID-19 Survival Box from the Korea Foundation comes at a time when so many in the US are living with a rapid spread of the virus. The carefully curated contents of the kit are extremely useful and thoughtful. I wear the masks regularly and people have asked where I got the mask. My response always include the thoughtfulness of a country to thank to their Peace Corps volunteers, the last of whom left Korea over 40 years ago. My gratitude to the Korea Foundation and Korea is deep.<omit> I shall not forget your kindness. “I shall not forget your kindness.” Janice Pettey, K-4 Janice Pettey
