Section 4. Handwr itten Letters 122 123 Mai lbox of Peace Korea Foundation & US Peace Corps KF COVID-19 Survival Box Gratitude Letter Col lection Makalo Nui loa (Thank you in Hawaiian) to you, the Korea Foundation and to those involved in sending the COVID-19 Survival Box. You all were so thoughtful and generous! I was totally amazed by all of it, but then again & shouldn’t have been. Koreans have always been that way from, the first time I went in 1966 as K-1 volunteer. My daughter has traveled with me twice in 2009 and 2016 for a revisit and the 50th anniversary. She was impressed every time she went and wanted to return, as do my two sons and granddaughters. <omit> Thank you all again for thinking of us “You all were so thoughtful and generous!” Dian Mahoney , K - 1 Dian Mahoney I was part of K-1 from 1966-68 - the very first group to arrive. So, I am even more proud! I taught at Pusan Girls’ high school and spent my vacations at Aikwangwon on Kojedo. My family started it in 1952 and it is still there – I returned for one year(1995- 96) to teach at Koje Junior College and lived at Aikwangwon with my beloved family. In Korea re-visit in 2012 was a highlight of my life and now, this generous gift makes my heart overflow with gratitude. <omit> They learned something we PCVs already knew. The appreciation, the love, the bond. With love, Sharron Toulouse “I am even more proud!” Sharron Toulouse , K - 1 Sharron Toulouse
